OK...this one might test out some tech heads...(or it could be fudging obvious!!)

Story goes...basically from a standstill, i'll have boost throught all gears...until there is a noise that sounds kinda of like a gear crunching in/out of gear, but not quite so harsh, then i somehow lose boost, nothing, won't go above 0psi ont he boost guage, drop into 4th, still nothing...revs very slowely up.....then i go down throught he gears, come to a stop, do it again, has boost in all gears until this same noise, which i can feel throught the gearstick, clutch, accelerator pedals...doesn't last long...

ANY IDEAS....???

5hth gear solenoid loosing vac/gaining vac etc form manifold at wrong time..??
starter motor engaging when running..??..

But why would i loose boost..??...

Dylan

maybe the wastegate or the BOV is stuck and all boost is just expelled.

more HP!

No BOV fitted....wastegate is only conrolled by vac line at turbo, nothing else...can't see how this noise/vibration can affect it in that manner...

Have u checked your turbo for shaft movment.
could it be the turbo is getting stuck against the inside wall? Would explain why its hard to rev, on cordias the turbo can be completely stalled and the car will still run, just not very well.

For now though i think i just think about this one some more, trying to connect to the gearbox is an interesting one, it could b causing it somehow with the cordias vacume setup on 5th gear but i'll just have a think.

Anymore info on how the motor is reving when all this happens?

Gear box actuator or solinoid? They would be leaking, but what do i know :\ It might explain the crunching noises, gear trying to pop out....

Sounds like you are having a problem with the gearbox/solenoid/5th
gear actuator.

Once in a while, my Cordia will drop out of gear/be in the wrong gear
even though my gear shift is located in 3rd/4th/5th often with a
crunching sound as it engages/disengages gear.

If you are effectively in neutral, you will lose boost pressure. If
you are in a taller gear than you think you are, revs and boost
will be slower to rise.

Matt

That's what I thought too... but the only thing I can find wrong with the theory is... "won't go above 0psi ont he boost guage, drop into 4th, still nothing...revs very slowely up" <--- if it were 5th gear actuator dropping into neutral it would rev like a pisser in neutral, it wouldn't rev slowly. It would rev slightly slower than normal but it wouldn't be considered 'revs up slowly' I don't think.

I'd check it anyway, I could be wrong... I'd be looking just in case.

You've got a bastard of a problem here.... I've been thinkin about this since you posted it and I haven't got a friggin clue :/

Astaroth.

Ok, i'd liek to repost this, it's back, has been for a little while..and ...annoying as fudge cake...mm fudge cake...yumm

Ok try again...from a stand still take off, 1st boosts, 2nd boosts 345...all ok....seems when i fang it to like 14/15 psi (boost cut disabled) in like second or thrid then back off and stop fanging bout 5-10 secs later i hear a noise sounds a bit like what i'd imagine 5th gear tryig ot engage when it shlouldn't, it's ashortish sound...bout a second in total, grinding, metalic, but not super harsh, kindo of light...

then my car wont boost, any gear, at all, boost gauge wont go past 0psi someties it even sits below 0psi no matter how far i push pedal...it holds right bak, accelerates like it would in say 5th gear at 20kph...but doesn't get better at all........until i come to a stop, then it's fine again...then it might come back if i fang then back off...

any help boys, annoying as hell....

Dylan

to rule out the 5th gear actuator disconnect it at the intake infront of the vaccume canister. If it still does it then id say you can rule it out.

there is a servo for operating your hydraulic clutch in your gearbox , ive just changed a motor out in my AC and got it running pushed the clutch in stuck it in gear and motor just screamed its tits off a mechanic later told me that was the problem she was stuffed, if it was slowly crapping out on you , may be lettting your clucth slip heaps under power thus loose a bit of boost ????????

im not sure if this is the problem but maybe something you could check out and make sure......but you never know ....silly things can sometimes b the problem ?????

let us know how u go
