hey guiiiiize, looking for a gearbox for my 1985 cordia, previous owner dropped a 4G93 into it and kept the original 1.8 gearbox without telling me :\, so now that its blown i need a gearbox that can handle a 2lt engine, and hpoefully it will just bolt straight onto the engine without any custom work needed. i live in Adelaide and currently dont have the money to purchase one BUT im willing to give my PS3, 160gb, comes with black ops, ethernet cord , av cables, power cables, controller, wireless headset and is in great condition. let me know.
cheers

I guess he is,

Standard cordia gearboxes are more than enough for mild 2lt engines. A common misconception is that worn synchros = blown gearbox, this is not true. Have you actually blown your gearbox or have you worn synchros?

After reading that link it definatly sounds like a problem i had the gearbox acutator has 3 positions engaged, disengaged and "a box full of neutrals" as someone on here once wrote this sounds like the problem. The same thing happened to me i changed 3 gearboxes and finally realised the one way vacuum valve had blown apart and thing was receiving boost throwing it into the neutral position :), sound like yours in stuck in the neutral position.

hey man i was hoping it may of been just a small vac problem, not the whole gearbox itself, mechanic ended up taking the gearbox and told me it was blown since he could turn it with no effort, all i know is if it could turn that easly then it was obvious it blew, unless it is something else im not sure, i was told its blown.
but ye i guess im looking for a standard gearbox.. even though the mechanic told me i should look for a gearbox that can handle a 2lt..and also someone said the 4G93 are 1.8lt?? the one in my car isnt :\??
besides all this does anyone have a gearbox for me!! :P

If the gearbox acutartor is stuck in the neutral position it will turn easy, and what i can't figure out what gearbox you want have a look at dingies thread at the moment he is trying to figure out what box if any we can use in cordia's besides the stock one :)
