Having taken the 4G63 out of my Cordia I've discovered that the engine came from a J spec VR4 auto.....so I'm now looking for a manual J spec VR4 oil pump and oil cooler.

The issue I have with the original oil cooler is that when the engine is in the Cordia engine bay you cannot remove the oil filter and I'm guessing the oil filter hasn't been changed since the VR4 conversion was done over 7 years ago :o

I also need a complete thermostat housing and a water pump pipe to suit the 4G63T.

I'm in Adelaide but I'm willing to pay postage..

Cheers

use a low profile oil filter to over come problem of not being able to change it i went through same problem.
the larger type oil filter hits the swaybar mounts or something from memory and doesn't allow you to unscrew it far enough. Lower profile filter alot cheaper than a new oil pump.
I will post low profile oil filter part number for you 2morrow.
As for thermostat housing just take what you got into spare parts store and match one up, if they can't find the part listing.

Grant needs an original 63 oil pump shoulder to replace the "water" cooled version.........which doesn't allow for an external cooler.

Water cooled oil is commonly found in AUS specs. What you need is a "JDM oil filter housing" (The part which bolts to the oil pump), this allows for air cooled oil. Unfortunately for you, the timing belt covers must come off for this.

You shouldn't have any problems with a Z142a unless you run an aftermarket sway bar and try to fit the top belt cover under a unmodified hood. ARK1-S and the hood mod seen on Andrews thread help this.

The problem is actually "width" of the housing koray........with the water cooled version in place you can't get the oil filter off as it sits 15mm from the sway bar mounting bracket.

Pain in the ass.

Thats what i meant in my first post, I had same problem even with oil cooled shoulder i couldn't unscrew it as it backed into
sway bar mount so i had to lift my engine get the filter off
Then i used a Valvoline V05 filter instead which was shorter in length which allows me enough room to change my filter,
I can't remember the filter i had on there to start with that gave me troubles.

Repco ROF142 is the only filter that gives me no trouble. Still have to turn it over to wriggle it past the swaybar so oil goes everywhere. I'm forever cleaning up oil from the front crossmember after an oil change. Shits me!

I have a 4G63 thermostat housing in good condition if your interested.
