It's powered by 1000cc v twin honda bike engine weighs not alot and goes like
a cut snake. We couldn't get his gtech to work properly on it to get times but
figure 4-5 sec 0-100, traction is a challange as it's still spinning the tyre in 3rd easily.

He still has a bit work to do on it to finish it off before it gets rego'd ie
body work and lights etc but it already gets the "wtf" is that syndrome, i was
offered a drive but took a rain cheque as my luck the cops would show up and i dont
think i could talk my way out of the situation.
Heres a utube link from a few weeks ago

http://www.youtube.com/user/Audiofixqld#p/a/u/2/KsbSs6dLSgg
and will post the link for the newer footage when he uploads it.

I'm not sure how he will get it rego'd, but i believe he has submitted designs to
dot and has also had engineer to inspect it. In qld it seems we have very tight
restrictions on building cars but trikes are dont have to meet same regulations.

As far as burnouts go it doesn't produce alot of tyre smoke but it does do impressive
donuts , except the guy taking the video didn't get that. Will get some
more vids ( i'm sure he wont mind taking it for another run )

That thing is awesome! I want one! :D What's the cornering like though?

Oh and will it have any body panels to get rego or just the skeleton? Crazy!

I think the cornering will be fairly good, the gtech showed a bit over 1g lateral
but it wasn't working properly so i dont know how correct that is and also he wasnt
exploring the limits corning adhesion yet.
It will have body pannels of some description, it hasn't even got a proper floor yet.

Well i can revive this
It is now rego'd and a load of fun to drive
He has driven down to sydney ( from the sunshine coast ) and back in it without
any problems, apart from people asking what the f@#$ is that. Gets a crowd
where ever he goes.
Andrew is showing a work mate the basic operation who is about to have a drive.
It's very cool... if only i had some spare coin and could weld...

Well the tripod made it up to cape york about a year ago ,
so this time andrew and i drove it to wilson's prom to complete the
most northern and southern points on mainland australia.

It was a 12 day roadtrip with a trip to the motogp thrown in, about 5200km
were covered which i think was just long enough 2 up ( tripod wasn't designed
for long distance travel ) This thing handles great, think its the closet thing
to a gokart on the road.
Meet some interesting people and drank a amount of beer to wash down ingested bugs
and had a great time.
facebook link for any interested https://www.facebook.com/TriPodCars

There is a dozen or so of these kits being built around the country atm and some being
made in the usa as well.
This weekend he running it at the noosa hillclimb , will interesting to see how his times
compare to other cars.......
