hey,
juz noticed the nashstyle's power figure was in 3rd gear....
shouldnt all figures that are posted up be in 4th gear? would it become inaccurate??.... from what ive seen all dyno runs are calculated in 4th gear, true??
just a thought....

well went for the dyno run last night had a shocker 147.4kw at 12psi was hoping to run 20psi, but the turbosmart 2 stage boost control let me down was spiking to 19psi then back down to 12psi. I was going to run 20psi but couldn't because of the spike, i have a haltech boost controller on the way. Ox!gen the tc06 didn't do to bad so it will be back to the dyno next week. never had a problem with turbo spike before well the boost controller is 5 years old but all i can say is turbosmart boost controllers are shit.............................

nashstly can run his car in whatever gear he likes. hears don't change the engine's power output, they just make better use of it. if through reduced driveline losses and other factors he can produce a higher number in a lower gear why is that figure inaccurate? (I do see the point that we're looking for a fair comparison here, but dynos are so varyable anyway you can let him have that one)

This is a great topic.

I think it would be better if everyone posted there power reading
and included which gear it was run up in. Also on what type of
dyno ie. roller or hub.

It just makes it more useful for comparison purposes.

what type of dyno (hub or rollers) might be useful, if anyone wan'ts to provide that information in the future they're welcome to although it won't be included in the list. fact of the matter is dynos vary so much it's really only of academic interest what sort it was.
The gear used will not be recorded. it has no relationship to the power figure's accuracy as discussed.

You can believe this if you want, but surely there has to be some
standards otherwise people may start quoting flywheel figures?

You may think it makes no difference which gear it is run in, but if
different gears provide different results(which is true), then it
should be stated which gear it is run in.

all figures must be at wheel figures recorded on a roller or hub dynamometer.

different gears do provide different power figures. that is not to say that they're in accurate. different wheel and tyre combos will produce different results but you won't hear people complaining that that guy had lighter wheels than the next guy. this list is for a bit a of fun, trying to read too much into dyno numbers always leads to arguments. if you want harder figures, look at the strip times in the quarter comp and ignore the g-tech ones. after all, the strip (and strictly the terminal speed) is the only test that doesn't lie.

AA AB. AC would be a little less, closer to 60 than 70 for ac. closer to 70 than 60 for aa ab

Ta, also better to let the following guys down slowly, mitsboost, JAPRCR & especially Ocyrion I'll have my Microtech installed by tomorrow, so you better start praying, especially Ocyrion  since, I've fixed the leaking injectors, turbo oil leak and dying fuel pump after the last dyno run.

And for Astaroth, I've still got to install a 5" thick Bar n plate cooler :P
