Sorry to say my cordia days are now behind me. Sold the old girl yesterday to the perfect buyer. My car is his 7th cordia. He put around $80k into one over 15 years ago. Was a blue vr4 with ugly chrome wheels and full retrimmed leather interior. Number plate was runyou if i remember correctly. He sold it to buy a house and now many years later nostalgia led him to my one. He's already cut part of the front quarter out of the chassis and welded on a new plate. Body was in horrible condition. If he goes through with the build it will be a properly restored cordia.

Didn't get what i was hoping for. The comp check i did with him showed cylinder 2 has lost 50psi in the last 12 months. Other 3 were 170. So a rebuild will be required. Most people would have walked away from it at that point but i could tell this bloke had a thing for cordias. He couldn't pass it up despite it's condition.

Was very sad to see it drive away. Damn, it sounded good. Had instant regret...but i've made my decision. Now i have to live with it lol.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone that has helped me over the years, especially Andrew (bitza). Without your help mate i wouldn't have been able to get as far as i did with the car. Your resto was a big motivator too. So cheers man!

I know this forum is practically dead but the fact it still survives with the archives of info still available is a big testament to the passion of cordia owners, and those that just appreciate classic japanese cars.

I still have a few leftover parts i will be putting up for sale and i'll check in every now and again to see what's happening. If my old car gets fully restored i'll prompt the guy to post in these pages.

Yeah but the day was inevitable. The car needed some major work done in order to keep it on the road. Just happy the buyer is willing to spend the money because it wasn't something i wanted to do. New owner is actually considering making it 4WD. If he goes down that path, it would have been worth it for sure. He's going to keep me updated on the build and i'll report in with how it turns out.

It's understandable though, sometimes we outgrow things or interests change.
On the bright side it is good to know you found a good home for it. :)
Best of luck.

What's the next car adventure? Or just getting out of cars?

No mate, cars are a lifelong interest for me. I've got an evo8, engine is basically stock. Will be building the engine this year. But basically looking for a rear wheel drive car, maybe an S14. I've just got no interest in FWD anymore.

AC's are not easy to find, the one Pete got is rough but overall all there.

I must admit that blue ones look great today, maybe even better then maroon ones.
