but they just measure acceleration don't they?, it shouldn't matter if they're on a boat or a pedestrian, and wheelspin wouldn't effect it, hmm, this is really intersting, i shouild get a gtech (and a car for that matter :( ) and go find out. would it have anything to do with strips adding in your reaction time to the measurement, or do strips compensate anyway and just time from when you start?

Its from all the vibrations and maybe some sideways movement, and your reaction time hasn't got any part in your times, its from the moment u move.

ah ok, thanks slodia, i always wondered why people in dragstrip videos would wait till the light goes green, then launch two seconds later.

I just took a guess at being a strip time. at the bottom of both lists anyway, so i don't think we need to worry about accuracy untill there are a lot of times up.

I would, but i don't live in the same state (SA). By the way, any of the Adelaide people here go to the 4,6, rotary drags on the weekend? I also read about the new thing their starting up on Wednesdays especially for 4,6, rotaries and younger drivers....anyone interested?

Once i get the gearbox done im going :D
I can only manage a 14.3 ET using Gtech, without intercooler, but few mods.

best i've managed is a 16 with a stopwatch. i need to learn to drive. i know my car could make 13s given enough grip.

G,day guys i ran a 14.01 at 106mph 2.156 60ft at eastern creek that was on stocky 195/60/14 on the front thats because i couldnt get ant traction

with my 205/40/17 my car is currenty running vr4 haltech tco6 large front mount 3inch exaust pumps 173kw at front wheels @15psi im using

the stockys because when i drop the tyre pressure to about 18psi heaps
more grip than the 17,s when i get some better tyres 13.5 here we come.

AB cordia GSR, 13.85et 108mph. willowbank at the time car had sohc 4g63, std computer, 1 cylinder down on compression, std turbo running 12psi (tc06) 3'' zorst, huge bar and plate intercooler, oil catch can, bov. and a fudged clutch... which helped launches... less wheelspin!!...

rebuilding engine now.. forgies, ported head, microtech and highflow.. if i don't get a flat 13.. i'll be pissed! will let ya's know.

I've just re-jigged the numbers to count through both lists. still keeping the g-tech and strip lists separate. Reason being I'm not 100% convinced the G-tech gives an advantage. At least this way It keeps the lists separate for the purists out there, and also lets you see absolute placings as well as relative ones.

yeh i think seperate strip & gtech lists are a good idea - maybe even naming the drag strip that the time was run at just for good measure??

grrrrr....... i must run a 14 second pass next winter.......
